Massive Ceramic Sculpture by Guido Gambone Italy
early-1950s
This is an extremely impressive piece "in person". A slab-built ceramic tower, with variously sized rectangular openings cut into the sides, suggests a model for an experimental building by Le Corbusier or Andre Bloc. Originally a substantial lamp-base, it could be reconverted for such use, or just displayed as a sculpture. Signed, with "donkey" mark.
